A sophisticated design of two parakeets or budgies surrounded by colorful tropical flowers, hand painted on the frosted glass globe, Circa 1920s and 1930s. The colors are very vibrant (blue, yellow and orange birds, with the orange and yellow repeated in the flowers - the birds in the wild would have blended into the floral background). One of the striking features of this light is the prismatic bottom of the globe - this directs light downward making this a perfect fixture for a room that you need a bright light. It has period appropriate flush mount porcelain fixture. I could find no manufacturer for this light. Requires Standard Base Bulbs - 60W max. (NOT INCLUDED). We highly recommend LED bulbs as they give off less heat and are energy efficient - also LEDs will be easier on the paint..
- - 9” ceiling drop
- - 8” Diameter
- Considering its age this light is in great condition - some minor paint loss and rub marks - when cleaning this shade, please use mild soap and water, DO NOT soak or rub - you could remove the hand painted design. The porcelain fixture has some minor crazing - typical for the age.
This light is subject to availability, as it is being sold on other venues.
