I believe this Antique Glass Globe decorated with a Parrot/Tropical Bird and Flowers is by the Gill Glass & Fixture Company, Philadelphia. But to be honest some of these were made by Moe Bridges Artistic Lighting Equipment of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The top of the globe is white surrounded by a narrow teal blue color band, then a band of rusty brown, the rest of the globe is painted green/blue color. The brown and green/blue areas appear are slightly textured to the touch. Then we have the colorful hand painted tropical bird with blue feathers, yellow breast and orange head. The orange and yellow colors are repeated in the hand painted flowers that go around the globe. There is only one bird. paint loss is minimal, surprisingly, because this globe is probably over 80 years old. The bottom is open. Of course the globe was found without a fixture - so we have found an age appropriate fixture and canopy that does have some patina. The socket has an on/off switch (just leave it in the on position and operate the light from a wall switch). The light Requires Standard Base Bulbs - 60W max. (NOT INCLUDED). We highly recommend LED bulbs as they give off less heat and are energy efficient - also LEDs will be easier on the paint..
- 21” ceiling drop
- 8” Globe Diameter
- 8" Globe Height
- The glass globe is without any cracks or chips - a few typical flea bites are present where the shade fits into the fixture. This is typical of age and use.
This light is subject to availability, as it is being sold on other venues.
