The stenciled design of Tropical Birds on a floral background has been fired into the glass globe - this was popular for globes dating in the 1920's &30's. I believe this Antique Glass Globe with a Parrot/Tropical Bird and Flowers is by the Gill Glass & Fixture Company, Philadelphia. But to be honest some of these were made by Moe Bridges Artistic Lighting Equipment of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The tropical birds with their vibrant colors of rust, green, orange and slate blue, appear twice on the globe in terracotta colored band. Above and below the terracotta band are white bands and the terracotta is repeated in a circle on the bottom of the shade. Complimenting this globe is an octagon white porcelain fixture. This would look great in a bathroom, bedroom, or hallway. It is also very well suited to rooms with a low ceilings. Requires Standard Base Bulbs - 60W max. (NOT INCLUDED). We highly recommend LED bulbs as they give off less heat and are energy efficient - also LEDs will be easier on the paint..
- 10” ceiling drop
- 9” Diameter
- Considering its age this light is in excellent condition - with only a few very minor flakes or nibbles on the globe hidden by the porcelain fixture.
This light is subject to availability, as it is being sold on other venues.
