Vintage Light Fixture from the 1930's. Great Kitchen Light, or Bedroom Light. This is a low profile light and is suitable for rooms with lower ceilings. Installs in the ceiling junction box, using two screws (NOT INCLUDED), that either go in the junction box, or the ceiling using drywall anchors. These lights were manufactured by various companies including Virden. Requires Standard Base Bulbs - 60W max. (NOT INCLUDED). We highly recommend LED bulbs as they give off less heat and are energy efficient. Diameter Glass 8-1/2 inches The John C. Virden Company was located in Canada at 19 Curity Ave in Toronto and the USA at 6103 Longfellow Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. The company manufactured beautiful high-end, ornate lights, but wisely they also produced a line of lighting that was used for bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms - they have now taken on a great mid century vibe and are highly sought after.
